On the 13th of August, Andhra Pradesh received 5.76 lakh doses of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine. The slot of 5.76 lakh doses of the Serum Institute of India (SII) manufactured Covishield vaccine reached Gannavaram airport from Pune.

With this new consignment of the COVID-19 vaccines, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) would speed up the vaccination drive in the State. Recently, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, urged the Central Government to provide vaccines to the State, so they could speed up the vaccination program.

Meanwhile, so far, a total of 2.42 crore vaccine doses have been given to the people of the State. Of the total, 63.3 lakh are fully vaccinated and 1.78 crores are vaccinated with a single dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

In addition, 54.43% of the doses were administered to females and 45.57% of doses were administered to males.

Adding to it, Andhra Pradesh registered 1,859 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. With this, the State has 19,88,910 positive cases, of which 13,595 are deceased cases, 19,57,627 are recovered/discharged cases and 18,688 are active cases.
