On the 13th of August, India once again reported a rise in the Wuhan virus cases, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.) After reporting 28,204 new cases recently, the single day cases once again increased to 40,000.
On the morning of the 13th of August, Friday, India reported 40,120 new cases of the Wuhan virus. In addition to the new cases, the nation registered 42,295 recoveries and 585 new deaths in the past 24 hours.
Of the new cases, the maximum number of cases were reported from the southern region of India and Maharashtra. Kerala still has the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 1,75,958 active cases, followed by Maharashtra (64,570,) Karnataka (22, 851) and Tamil Nadu (20,382) cases.
In the South Indian region, Telangana is the only State with below 1,000 cases of the Wuhah virus and total active cases below 10,000.
The new COVID-19 figures were confirmed by the Union Health Ministry today morning, whereas the updated data is available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)
With this, currently India has 3,21,17,826 positive cases, of which 3,13,02,345 are recovered/discharged cases, 3,85,227 are active cases and 4,30,254 are deceased cases.
Of the total cases,1.2% are active cases, 97.45 % are recovered case rate and 1.34 % fatality rate.
The new cases were confirmed after conducting 19,70,495 sample tests for COVID-19. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 48,94,70,779 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till date.
Meanwhile, so far a total of 52 crore vaccine doses have been administered in India till date.
