The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, which are due in Andhra Pradesh, are scheduled to be held during the month of June.
The State Education Department announced to release the time table of the SSC or class 10th examinations two weeks after the lockdown is proposed to end, on the 17th of May.
The lockdown is imposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, nationwide, as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19. The lockdown was implemented first on the 24th of March, which was extended twice, once on the 14th of April and secondly on the 1st of May.
In the wake of the lockdown and COVID-19 SSC exams were also postponed until further notice.
However, on the 5th of May, Adimulapu Suresh, the Education Minister of A.P., said the Education Department is planning to conduct the examinations, two weeks post the lockdown.
However, the official time table of the SSC exams would only be released after reviewing the situation after the lockdown ends.
This announcement regarding the scheduling of the examinations, came after a fake time table was being circulated on social media platforms. Mr. Suresh asked the students to be alert and not to fall for such fake circulations.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh recorded a total of 1,717 cases of the Novel Coronavirus with 34 fatalities.
