Machilipatnam: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that the Bandar Port will be completed by 2025, addressing the media after inspecting the ongoing works. He confirmed that an additional 38.32 acres of land would soon be allocated to expedite the project, which is estimated to cost Rs 3,669 crore.

Naidu criticized the previous government for neglecting the project but expressed optimism that the first four berths would be operational once the current phase is completed. As per the master plan, up to 16 berths could be established at the port in the future.

The Chief Minister highlighted the potential of Bandar Port in boosting the development of Machilipatnam, which is strategically located near Amaravati. He also emphasized the importance of converting the port into a container hub, which would benefit neighboring states like Telangana.

To further support the region, Naidu promised to improve road connectivity, set up a police training center, and enhance water supply. He also vowed to take swift action regarding illegal constructions, including the YSRCP office built on state police land.
