Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh BJP State President and Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandeswari has raised concerns over the illegal smuggling of ration rice through the Kakinada port. Speaking to the media, she emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been actively addressing this issue.

Purandeswari stated that inspections conducted in various areas revealed illegal transportation of ration rice stocks, with some being smuggled abroad via ships. State Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar confirmed that these operations were linked to individuals associated with the previous government. “The BJP has consistently opposed anti-people policies, including this illegal rice smuggling racket,” she remarked.

Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has reportedly taken the matter seriously, with the BJP continuing to demand stricter measures against such activities. The party also criticized the previous administration for its alleged involvement in these illegal shipments. Purandeswari addressed the ongoing dispute between Jammalamadugu MLA Adinarayana Reddy and Tadipatri Municipal Chairman JC Prabhakara Reddy over the movement of RTPP ashes in the YSR district. She clarified that CM Chandrababu Naidu has intervened, and discussions are ongoing.
