Visakhapatnam: In a sharp rebuttal to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s allegations concerning the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) prasadam controversy, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Botsa Satyanarayana, has directly challenged the CM, accusing him of being responsible for the adulterated ghee scandal. Speaking at the YSR Congress Party’s central office in Visakhapatnam, Botsa stated that all available evidence points to Naidu’s involvement and dared him to prove his innocence through an inquiry.
Botsa accused Naidu of attempting to deflect attention from his administration’s shortcomings by raising baseless claims about the adulteration of the famous Tirumala laddus. He demanded that Naidu own up to his role in the issue and stop misleading the public with false statements. Botsa emphasized that a thorough investigation is necessary, mentioning that petitions have already been filed in the Supreme Court by YSRCP MP YV Subba Reddy and BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, calling for a full inquiry into the matter.
“Chandrababu Naidu must face the truth instead of running from it. If his government is sincere about resolving the scandal, they should actively participate in the court proceedings,” Botsa said. He further noted that the YSR Congress Party, under the leadership of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has been proactive in addressing the issue.
Botsa also revealed that special pujas were conducted across the state as per Jagan Mohan Reddy’s instructions. These prayers sought divine intervention to protect the people from the alleged falsehoods spread by Naidu, ensuring that any negative consequences would befall the former chief minister alone.
In addition to the Tirumala controversy, Botsa raised concerns about the ongoing privatization of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. He highlighted the dismissal of 4,000 contract workers as part of this process and questioned the government’s silence on the future of the steel plant. Botsa demanded a clear and transparent stance from the ruling coalition on the issue, warning of serious repercussions if the government fails to act.
