Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has launched the distribution of permanent house titles to 939 families in Nellore district. The properties cover 22.31 acres at Sarvepalli Katta and are valued at around ₹600 crore.
Naidu launched the process virtually from his camp office in Amaravati on Sunday, October 11.
He said providing house titles to poor families was a key government priority. The move will give families who have lived on government land for decades legal ownership of their properties.
Naidu said 60,000 families in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Mangalagiri had also received house titles covering assets worth ₹52,000 crore.
He directed officials to provide permanent house titles to another 4,000 poor families in Nellore by Sankranti.
The Chief Minister also said the government would provide basic facilities near housing sites, including roads, toilets, drainage and internet access.
The government is spending about ₹1.8 lakh crore on infrastructure development across urban and rural areas, he added.
