Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to prioritize the poorest sections of society in selecting beneficiaries for the Indiramma Housing Scheme. During a review meeting held at his residence on Friday, the CM emphasized that preference should be given to the disabled, agricultural laborers, landless individuals, and sanitation workers. Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy was also present at the meeting.
The CM highlighted the importance of providing homes to those who already own land in the first phase, stressing the need for precision and accountability at the village and mandal levels. Officials were instructed to utilize advanced technology to ensure transparency and efficiency in the process. Revanth Reddy also directed that the mobile app for the Indiramma Housing Scheme be free of technical glitches to ensure beneficiaries face no challenges.
The CM recommended reserving a special quota for tribal areas and Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs). He also suggested allowing beneficiaries to construct additional rooms with proper permissions. Discussions were held on two housing models, with a decision expected within two days.
Senior officials, including CMO Chief Secretary Chandrasekhar Reddy and Housing Secretary Jyoti Buddhaprakash, participated in the review.
