Karimnagar: Former IT Minister & BRS Working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) criticized the Congress Party for its alleged misleading tactics and failure to support the Telangana movement during a Diksha Divas event held at Alugunur near Karimnagar on Friday. Addressing the gathering, KTR accused the Congress of neglecting the aspirations of Telangana during the agitation’s first and third phases and now attempting to mislead people with false promises.
KTR recalled the pivotal role of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) in achieving statehood for Telangana, stating, “KCR is a Himalayan figure in Telangana’s history. He risked his life, abandoned comforts, and led the movement with determination.” He highlighted that KCR’s leadership brought life to the movement, even when the Congress failed to support Telangana’s aspirations.
KTR criticized Congress’ year-long governance in Telangana, pointing to issues like improper food in Gurukuls, failure in loan waivers, and lack of governance. He called for a renewed struggle against Congress, urging people to stand with KCR’s leadership to protect Telangana’s future.
The event was attended by former Minister Gangula Kamalakar, former MLA Rasamai Balakishan, and Karimnagar Mayor Sunil Rao, with slogans of “Jai KCR” echoing throughout the program.
