Kakinada: In a significant development, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has promised to find a permanent solution to the longstanding issues related to the Suddagadda River. During his visit to Gollaprolu Mandal in Kakinada district, Pawan Kalyan held discussions with the district collector regarding the current state of the Eleru reservoir and the impact of recent flooding in the area.
The Deputy CM emphasized the urgent need to relocate residents from flood-prone areas to safer zones, prioritizing public safety in the wake of ongoing heavy rains. He ordered the immediate evacuation of vulnerable regions to prevent further loss of life and property.
Addressing Encroachment of Budameru
During his visit, Pawan Kalyan also addressed the sensitive issue of encroachments along the Budameru river, which has been a major cause of flooding in Vijayawada. He acknowledged that some people may have unknowingly purchased land in encroached areas and stressed the importance of dialogue in resolving these issues.
“We should engage with those who have encroached on Budameru lands. There are individuals who bought these lands without knowing they were encroachments. It is important to have discussions with everyone involved and take appropriate actions. People must also be made aware of the dangers of building homes near rivers and streams,” Pawan Kalyan said.
The Deputy CM highlighted the importance of raising awareness about the risks of constructing buildings in areas prone to flooding and other natural disasters.
Pawan Kalyan’s visit and his promise to take decisive action reflect the state government’s commitment to addressing environmental and infrastructural challenges that have affected Andhra Pradesh for years.
