In Andhra Pradesh, the concerned department issued a second danger warning at Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage at Dowleswaram, West Godavari.
The warning was issued on the 14th of September, Wednesday, due to the heavy floods continuing in the Godavari river, amid heavy to very heavy rainfall in the Telugu State.
According to sources, the inflow and outflow of 13.4 lakh cusecs of water have been maintained at the Doleswaram project. In addition, the Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management has suggested that relief measures should be taken in the coastal areas which are prone to inundation. Furthermore, the villagers and people residing in low lying and coastal region were asked to be cautious and were evacuated to safe places amid flood like situations.
Notably, Lanka, Chakalipalem, Kanakayalanka and other villages of P. Gannavaram Mandal were flooded with rainwater. Meanwhile, a flood situation is expected in the Srisailam project resulting in the lifting of nine gates of the reservoir by 10 feet and the water released downstream.
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department issued a rain alert for the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, for the next few days, raising concerns about floods for the respective governments.
