Amaravati: The financial mismanagement of the previous government has come under scrutiny, leaving data entry operators in the engineering department of Panchayati Raj without salaries for one and a half years. During a review meeting at the camp office in Vijayawada, State Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed deep concern over the financial chaos under the YSP regime.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan highlighted the plight of 129 data entry operators who have not received their due salaries, impacting their families’ ability to pay for essential needs like education and healthcare. He assured the workers that comprehensive reports are being prepared to address financial irregularities and fund diversions in various departments.

In the meeting, the discussion focused on the engineering department’s projects, particularly roads and bridges, and the use of funds from the central government and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The review covered the implementation of schemes like PMGSY and RCPW, with officials directed to report on pending works and the status of allocated funds.

The Deputy Chief Minister also raised concerns about blacklisted contractors receiving new assignments and payments. He instructed the authorities to provide detailed reports on these contractors and emphasized the need for transparency by setting up boards to inform the public about village projects.
