Hyderabad: BRS Executive President and former minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has called on the Telangana government to provide another opportunity for those who were left out of the caste census survey. Reacting to the government’s admission of flaws in the survey, KTR welcomed the acknowledgment but demanded further action.
He criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, urging him to accept that the resolution passed in the Assembly was based on incomplete data and to issue a public apology to Backward Classes (BCs) for the emotional distress caused. KTR insisted that a comprehensive re-survey should be conducted to ensure accurate representation of all communities.
Furthermore, he emphasized that local body elections should only be held after ensuring 42% reservation for BCs. He argued that shifting the reservation issue to the central government’s jurisdiction would be unacceptable. KTR reaffirmed that social justice should remain a top priority and called for immediate corrective measures to rectify the errors in the census process.
