Visakhapatnam: The addition of two new flights between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada promises to enhance regional air connectivity. Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu inaugurated Air India Express’ new flight service at Visakhapatnam Airport, set to depart at 9:35 AM and arrive in Vijayawada at 10:35 AM. The return flight will leave Vijayawada at 7:55 PM, reaching Visakhapatnam by 9 PM.
IndiGo has also launched a service that departs Vijayawada at 7:15 PM and lands in Visakhapatnam at 8:20 PM, returning from Visakhapatnam at 8:45 PM and reaching Vijayawada by 9:50 PM. These additions increase the frequency of flights between the two cities to three per day.
Speaking at the event, Naidu noted, “The demand for more flights between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada has been met with these two new services, making travel more accessible and affordable. With increased seat availability, ticket prices could fall to around Rs. 3000.” Naidu also discussed plans to expand services from Visakhapatnam to Goa, Bhogapuram’s upcoming international-standard airport, and the establishment of an Air Service University.
