Mangalagiri: In an interesting political development police searched the vehicles Telugu Desam Party (TDP) general secretary Nara Lokesh at Tadepalli Karakatta area.

Police across the state intensified the searches after Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came in force. Special checkposts were arranged to inspect the vehicles. Around Rs.160 crores worth cash and valuable items were seized by the police.

Lokesh was heading to ‘Breakfast with Nara Lokesh’ program at a residential colony located at Mangalagiri. Special team of police stopped the vehicles in Lokesh’s convoy and inspected each and every vehicle.

Dog squad also joined the search. Lokesh cooperated with the police officials and ensured that every vehicle is inspected thoroughly. Police completed the searches and confirmed that no cash or valuable material was shifted in Lokesh’s convoy.

“We respect the democracy and election system. Police can search our vehicles anytime. Telugu Desam is committed to the morals and values and we will never encourage evil practices,” Lokesh said.
