Guntur: TDP leader and former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana visited two female students from the Sattenapalli SC hostel who attempted suicide, reportedly due to harassment and negligence by the hostel warden. The students are currently receiving treatment at Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH), where their condition is reported to be stable.
During his visit, Kanna Lakshminarayana interacted with the students and their families to understand the situation. According to the students, the warden had been harassing them after they complained about poor food quality, leading to their extreme step. Parents of the students had lodged a complaint with the police two days ago, citing the warden’s behavior as the cause of the issue.
Speaking to the media, Kanna Lakshminarayana assured that he would press authorities to take strict action against the warden to prevent such incidents in the future. He also emphasized the need for improved oversight in hostels to ensure student welfare.
The incident has sparked concerns about the safety and living conditions of students in hostels, calling for urgent intervention by the authorities.
