Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board has unveiled significant decisions aimed at enhancing the experience for devotees and improving infrastructure. The board of trustees, led by chairman B.R. Naidu, discussed various reforms during its latest meeting.
B.R. Naidu announced plans to streamline Sarvadarshan, ensuring devotees can have darshan within 2-3 hours. He also stated that pagan employees in TTD would be handed over to the government.
Key decisions included the dissolution of the Srivani Trust and naming the upper bridge of Srinivasa Setu as Garuda Varadhi. Additionally, the TTD committed to removing garbage from the Tirumala dumping yard within three months.
The chairman emphasized keeping politics out of Tirumala matters and announced plans to transfer TTD funds from private banks to government banks. Other notable steps include canceling the lease of Saradapeetham, revoking permits for the newly constructed Mumtaj Hotel, and discontinuing darshan tickets issued via tourism.
“We are taking these measures to uphold Tirumala’s sanctity and improve devotee satisfaction. Devotees will now have darshan opportunities on Tuesdays,” Naidu stated.
These reforms underscore TTD’s commitment to ensuring a seamless spiritual experience for devotees.
