Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has initiated steps to take legal action against YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy for allegedly spreading false information regarding cow deaths at the SV Goshala.

TTD Board member Bhanu Prakash Reddy lodged a formal complaint with Chittoor SP Harshavardhan Raju, accusing Karunakar Reddy of making baseless allegations that over 100 cows had died due to mismanagement at the Goshala. The complaint demands that a case be registered and action taken against the former chairman for allegedly misleading the public and hurting the sentiments of devotees.

Speaking to the media, Bhanu Prakash criticized Karunakar Reddy, stating, “He is trying to defame the institution with fabricated claims. In reality, it was during his tenure as TTD Chairman that irregularities peaked. Cows were fed worm-infested food under the previous YSRCP government, and a significant number of deaths occurred back then.”

He added that the current TTD administration is conducting a vigilance inquiry into irregularities that took place under the previous regime and warned YSRCP leaders not to politicize the sacred issue of cow protection and temple administration.
