Visakhapatnam: In a heart-wrenching incident, a fully pregnant woman named Anusha (27) was brutally murdered by her husband, Geddada Gyaneshwar, in Madhurawada, Visakhapatnam on Monday. The horrifying crime has left the local community in shock and the victim’s family demanding strict punishment.
The couple, who hailed from different castes, had married in 2022 and were living in an apartment in Madhurawada. Despite two years of marriage, Gyaneshwar never introduced Anusha to his parents and allegedly kept their marriage a secret from his family.
On Monday morning, Gyaneshwar killed Anusha while she was asleep and later tried to pretend innocence by taking her to KGH Hospital with the help of locals. However, doctors confirmed she was already dead. During the postmortem on Tuesday, a half-alive baby was removed from her womb, intensifying the tragedy. Unfortunately, the baby could not survive.
Family members, overcome with grief, gathered at the hospital and demanded the harshest punishment for Gyaneshwar, holding him responsible for both the mother’s and the unborn child’s deaths. The PM Palem police arrested Gyaneshwar, and after his confession, he was produced before the Bhimili court and remanded for 14 days.
