Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the victims of the Srikakulam train accident.
On the 12th of April, Tuesday, he said, the compensation amount would be given to the families of the deceased and asked the concerned officials to ensure proper medical treatment for the injured.
It is to be noted, that on the 11th of April, Monday, a tragic train accident happened in Srikakulam, which left five people dead and several others injured. The District Collector submitted a detail regarding the train accident. As per the submitted reports, of the five deceased, two were natives of Assam and the remaining three are yet to be identified and said to be from different states. The details about the reason behind the Srikakulam train mishap are yet to be known. An investigation is also underway regarding the same.
Furthermore, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy directed officials to ensure all the victims are provided with proper assistance and medical facilities.
