The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) led the Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) Government is mulling to set up an integrated Collectorate Complex in new districts.

Recently, Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) announced to have 13 new districts, taking the total districts in the State to 26. The State Government is planning to establish one collectorate complex in every district, having district offices of various departments in one place, instead of having different offices like ward/village Secretariats.

The move would help the Andhra Pradesh Government to save land and funds along with more accessibility to the public. The idea was similar to the neighboring Telugu State of Telangana. In Telangana, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led Government to plan Integrated Collectorate Complexes at various places in the State.

The Andhra Pradesh authorities said they have looked at all of them and come to an understanding of how to set up integrated Collectorates as per need. The setup would be like a complex, the services at one place, including the village and ward secretariat system being centralized there. In new districts, the new collectorate complex is likely to bring all administrative divisions under one umbrella. Apart from the Collectorate and the Superintendent of Police (SP) offices, the offices of the DEO, Agriculture JD and Welfare Departments are functioning in over a hundred district centers. Officers’ quarters, meeting rooms, and vehicle parking are all expected to be in one place.

The officials said the government is currently planning to set up these collectorate complexes in 13 new district centers, excluding 13 district centers.

The details of the expected integrated complexes are being finalized by the authorized committee.
