Visakhapatnam: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has announced financial support for the victims of the recent pharma blast at Escientia Pharma in the Achyutapuram SEZ of Anakapalli district. On Saturday, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, MLC Botsa Satyanarayana, stated in Visakhapatnam that under the direction of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Rs 5 lakh would be provided to the families of those who lost their lives and Rs 1 lakh to each injured victim. Party leaders will personally deliver the aid to the affected families.
Botsa Satyanarayana criticized the government’s inadequate response to the disaster, pointing out the failure of ministers to act swiftly and the negligence in enforcing safety measures in industries. He contrasted this with his government’s swift actions during the 2020 LG Polymers gas leak incident, where Rs 1 crore ex-gratia was provided to the families of the deceased.
In addition to addressing the blast, Botsa condemned the recent murder of YSRCP worker Prasad in Etcherla, Srikakulam district. Prasad was attacked by ruling party members and died in the hospital. Botsa demanded that murder charges be filed against those responsible and called for an end to such violent acts.
