India crossed a huge milestone and administered one crore single day vaccine doses against the deadly Wuhan virus (COVID-19.)
On the 28th of August, the Union Health Ministry confirmed to administer the highest, 1 crore (1,00,64,032) single day COVID-19 doses to people in 24 hours. With this, a total of 62 crore vaccines (62,17,06,882,) have been administered to people in India.
At this event of India crossing a huge milestone,the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi took to Twitter and praised the people behind the success of the ongoing nation wide COVID-19 vaccination drive. Mr. Narendra Modi in his tweet said, “Record vaccination numbers today! Crossing 1 crore is a momentous feat. Kudos to those getting vaccinated and those making the vaccination drive a success.”
Mr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Health Minister, also took to Twitter and said, “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas… This is the same effort by which the country has crossed the figure of more than 1 crore vaccines in one day. This is the result of tireless work of health workers and PM Narendra Modi.”
Dr. Harsh Vardhan, the former Health Minister of India also cheered India for this record breaking victory and said, “Record-breaking !

Besides PM Modi, Mansukh Mandaviya and other Indian leaders, Microsoft Co Founder Mr. Bill Gates also congratulated India for crossing the milestone of administering 1 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses.
A tweet of Mr. Bill Gates read, “Congratulations, India, on reaching this tremendous milestone. The collective efforts of the government, R&D community, vaccine manufacturers, and millions of health workers have made this feat possible.”
In addition, on this occasion of completion of 1 crore COVID-19 doses in single day, Twitter users trend #ModiHaiToMumkeenHai on the micro blogging social media site.
Meanwhile, the Union Health Ministry confirmed to provide 60,25,95,250 COVID-19 vaccines to states and union territories governments for vaccination drives. In addition, approximately 1,51,58,650 vaccine doses are in pipeline to be sent to Indian states and UTs.
So far four vaccines are available for COVID-19 virus in India.

The Serum Institute of India (SII) manufactured Covishield.
The Hyderabad based Bharat Biotech International Private Limited manufactured COVAXIN.
The United States of America (U.S.A.,) Pfizer Modern
Russian made Sputnik V, which has been given authority to be manufactured in Hyderabad’s Dr. Reddy Laboratory.
