On the 24th of August, India reported below 30,000 single day Wuhan virus cases, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)
On the morning of Tuesday, the 24th of August, India reported 25,467 new cases, 39,486 recoveries and 354 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Of the new cases, the maximum number of cases were reported from Kerala, which has the highest number of COVID-19 active cases.
Besides Kerala and Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh also have the highest number of active COVID-19 cases.
In the South Indian region, Telangana is the only State with below 500 cases of the Wuhan virus and total active cases below 6,000.
The new COVID-19 figures were confirmed by the Union Health Ministry today morning, whereas the updated data is available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)
With this, currently India has 3,24,74,773 positive cases, of which 3,17,20,112 are recovered/discharged cases, 3,19,551 are active cases and 4,35,110 are deceased cases.
Of the total cases, 0.98% are active cases, 97.68 % are recovered case rate and 1.34 % fatality rate.
The new cases were confirmed after conducting 17,97,559 sample tests for COVID-19. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 49,84,27,083 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till date.
Meanwhile, so far a total of 58,89,97,805 crore (63,85,298 in last 24 hrs) vaccine doses have been administered in India.
On the other hand, recently the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) alerted the government of Indian states of the third wave of the Wuhan virus.
According to the MHA, the possible third wave is expected in October and would be dangerous for children and youngsters in India. In addition, besides the cases of the Wuhan virus, the new variant of the Wuhan virus, the Delta Plus variant, is also expected to rise during the third wave in October. During this time, cases might hit their peak and rise, risking lives of people.
