On the 13th of May, India reported 3,62,727 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus or the Wuhan Virus (COVID-19.) In addition to the new cases, 4,120 deaths and 3,52,181 recoveries/discharged cases. 

According to the Union Health Ministry, the Nation has 23,703,665 positive cases, of which 37,10,525 are active cases, 19,83,804 are recovered/discharged cases and 2,58,317 are deceased cases. The updated data is available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)

Compared to the cases on the 12th of May (3,48,421,) the Nation recorded a rise in today’s single day Wuhan Virus cases. In the past 24 hours, the new COVID-19 cases registered an increase of 6,426.

In addition, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) confirmed 19,83,804 sample tests for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. With this, the cumulative total of samples tested for the Wuhan Virus stood at 18,64,594.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra is reporting the highest number of daily infections and Karnataka at present has the highest number of active COVID-19 cases. In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra reported 46,781 new Wuhan Virus cases and 58,805 recoveries, which brought the active tally to 5,46,129.

Karnataka, on the other hand, has 5,92,182 active cases. In the last 24 hours, the state recorded 39,998 fresh infections and 34,752 recoveries.

In addition, on the 12th of May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a meeting to review the availability of oxygen and medicines in India. During the second wave of the Wuhan virus, the Nation witnessed massive shortage of oxygen, beds and medical facilities for COVID-19 patients.

In regard to this, the Central Government also released an amount of Rs. 322.5 crores from the PM-CARES fund to procure 1,50,000 units of Oxycare System.

Meanwhile, top 10 worst Wuhan Virus hit states of India are: Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Haryana, Gujarat, Delhi and Rajasthan.
