In the past 24 hours, India reported 3,48,421 fresh infections of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)

In addition to the new cases, the Nation registered 4,205 deaths and 3,55,358 number of recoveries.

The data was updated by the Union Health Ministry and is available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.) As per the website, India has 23,340,938 positive cases, of which 19,382,642 are recovered cases, 37,040,99 recovered cases and 2,54,197 deceased cases.

This the third consecutive day, India recorded less than 3.50 lakh new cases, but showed a rise in death cases. According to COVID-19 data, 4,205 is the highest single day death reported due to COVID-19.

In addition, in the last 24 hours, 19,83,804 samples were tested, the most in a day since the pandemic broke. Till date, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) conducted as many as 30,75,83,991 sample tests for COVID-19.

Highlighting the percentage data, India has 15.87 % active case rate, 83.04 % recovery rate and 1.09 % fatality rate.

In addition, the Health Ministry released the data of people who were adinistered the COVID-19 vaccine doses. According to the data, as many as 17,52,35,991 people were vaccinated against the virus, with 24,46,674 of them being inoculated in the last 24 hours.

Also, to curtail the spread of the virus, worst COVID-19 affected regions like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and others imposed complete/partial lockdown in their respective states.
