Omicron Cases Tally Reach 213 In India, Delhi And Maharashtra At Top 

After the Wuhan virus (COVID-19,) India is now struggling with the constant rise in the number of the Omicron cases, the new variant of COVID-19.

In the past 24 hours, the overall tally of the Omicron cases in India rose to 213 across 15 Indian states and Union Territories (UTs.) 

According to the Union Health Ministry data, Delhi and Maharashtra reported the maximum number of the Omicron cases, which increased the tally to 213 from the previous 200.

As per the updated data, released on the 22nd of December, Wednesday, a total of 213 cases have been reported, of which 90 people recovered from the Omicron variant.  In addition, Delhi has recorded the maximum 57 cases of the Omicron variant followed by Maharashtra at 54, Telangana 24, Karnataka 19, Rajasthan 18, Kerala 15 and Gujarat 14.  Other states which have the new Omicron variant cases are: Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, India also reported 6,317 COVID-19 cases,  and 318 fatalities in the past 24 hours. 

With this, India’s tally of COVID-19 is at 3,47,58,481, while the active cases declined to 78,190, the lowest in 575 days.  In addition, 3,42,01,966 people recovered and 4,78,325 people died. The daily rise in new coronavirus infections has been recorded below 15,000 for the last 55 days now.  In addition, the recovery rate of India from COVID-19 is at 98.40% and fatality rate at 1.38%.

On the other hand, the cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 138.96 crore.
