Dr. Reddy’s laboratory would work closely with stakeholders in the government and private sectors in India to ensure the widest possible reach of the Sputnik V vaccine as part of the national inoculation effort. This is a reaffirmation of the Company’s commitment to explore every avenue in the fight against the Wuhan Virus pandemic in India.
Though the first consignment of the vaccine was received on the 1st of May, the Hyderabad laboratory launched the vaccine in the Indian market on the 14th of May. On the same day, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratory administered the first dose of Sputnik V. According to the pharma company, the vaccine would be available at a cost of Rs. 995.4 per dose.

The Russian made vaccine has 90 % efficiency over the COVID-19 illness and has to be administered 21 days apart.
