The Wuhan virus (COVID-19) cases amongst students of state owned schools are rising rapidly. Recently, on the 5th of December, Sunday, 43 medical students of Chalmeda Anand Rao Institute of Medical Sciences in Bommakal, Karimnagar district, tested positive for the Wuhan virus.

In view of the rising number of cases, the college administration decided to suspend academic sessions and close the campus. Notably, the incident was reported a week after the Medical College organised its annual day fest, which is suspected to be the reason of COVID-19 cases.

When questioned about the gathering amid Wuhan virus’ new variant Omicron, Dr. Juveria, Karimnagar District Medical, Health and Family Welfare Officer, denied to have any information about the event.
