Telangana COVID-19 Cases Report Massive Rise With 6,206 Fresh Cases, Active Cases Stand At 52,726

The number of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases in Telangana are rising dramatically with a minimum of 5,000 cases regularly. In the past 24 hours, the State reported a total of 6,206 new COVID-19 cases.

The majority of 1,005 cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) followed by 502 from Medchal Malkajgiri (502) and 406 from Nizamabad. The other districts reported the remaining cases of COVID-19 in Telangana.

Besides 6,206 new cases, Telangana reported 3,052 recovered/discharged cases and 29 fatalities in the past 24 hours. The updated figures were given by the Telangana Health Department, on the night of the 22nd of April. The data was released through a media bulletin to update about the COVID-19 situation in the State. 

With the aforementioned data, Telangana has 3,79,494 positive cases, of which 3,24840 are recovered/discharged cases, 52,726 are active cases and 18,020 are deceased cases.

Meanwhile, two days after K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana’s COVID-19 positive report, his son K.T. Rama Rao also tested positive for the virus. K.T. Rama Rao, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister of Telangana, also tested positive for the virus. His reports came on the morning of the 23rd of April, following which he took to social media platform Twitter and confirmed the same.

In addition, between the 21st and the 22nd of April, nerly 1.05 lakh samples were tested for the Novel Coronavirus infection, taking the cumulative to over 1.22 crore samples till date.

Telangana’s recovery rate and fatality rate also showed fluctuation in the past days due to the increasing cases. As of now, Telangana has 85.59 % recovery rate and 0.50 % fatality rate of COVID-19.

In addition, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) also identified 304 active micro containment zones in the State.

The State Government led by KCR also assured to be prepared to tackle the second wave of the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.

The State Health Ministry confirmed no shortage of oxygens, beds and a vital drug Remdesivir for COVID-19 patients. On the other hand, the State vaccination drive administered doses of COVID-19 vaccine to more than 36 lakh people. Of which 31.5 lakh received first doses and close to 4.42 lakh people got their two shots of COVID-19
