The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government restricted the entry of visitors into the State Secretariat in Hyderabad.

The decision was taken due to the rising number of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases. The K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Government even decided to issue an official notification regarding the same.

In regard to this, Somesh Kumar, the Chief Secretary of Telangana, issued a circular dated the 23rd of April. The decision was taken after over 80 employees and officials, including Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, who work from the Secretariat, tested positive in the past three weeks.

The circular read, “Routine issue of visitors/temporary passes should be suspended. Only those visitors who have proper permission of the officer, whom they want to meet, should be allowed after being properly.”

In addition to this, the precautionary measures like wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing and frequent sanitisation would be strictly followed as per the COVID-19 protocol.

Meanwhile, the State Government is also likely to consider the demand of alternate days work and regulating work for hours. Concerned about the rising number of cases, many officials asked for alternate days work and rotational duties. In addition, the employees also requested for a vaccination centre to be set up on the Secretariat premises enabling employees above 45 years to get the vaccine without hassles.

However, there is no decision announced with regard to employees’ demands amid COVID-19 rise.
