Telangana Reports 7,432 New COVID-19 Cases And 33 Deaths, Highest Single Day Rise In 2021

On the 24th of April, Telangana reported another highest single day spike of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

In the past 24 hours, the State reported 7,432 new cases of COVID-19. This is the highest single day spike of the Novel Coronavirus cases in 2021. Of the total new cases, the highest number of cases were reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 1,464 new cases, followed by 606 cases from Medchal Malkajgiri, 504 from Rangareddy, 486 from Nizamabad, 323 from Warangal Urban, 280 from Mahabubnagar, 247 from Kamareddy, 222 from Mancherial, 215 from Karimnagar, 213 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 204 from Sangareddy, 192 from Siddipet, 185 from Jagtial, 168 from Vikarabad and 149 from Wanaparthy. The remaining cases were 147 from Yadadri Bhongir, 136 from Mahabubabad, 132 from Rajanna Sircilla, 122 from Warangal Rural, 121 from Adilabad, 120 from Nirmal, 100 from Peddapalli, 85 from Komarambheem Asifabad, 67 from Suryapet, 58 from Mulugu, 54 from Jangaon and 41 from Narayanpet.

Besides 7,432 new cases, Telangana also reported 33 deaths and 2,157 recoveries from COVID-19. This is the third consecutive day, the State reported more than 5,000 new cases and 20 deaths from COVID-19 infection.  

The positive cases were reported through a media bulletin after conducting 1,03,770 tests for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. With this, till date, the Telangana Health Department conducted a total of 1,23,84,797 tests for COVID-19.

The updated figure of the COVID-19 infection was given by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government. The State Health Department, on a regular basis releases a media bulletin, briefing about the new COVID-19 cases, tests conducted, deaths reported and recovered/discharged cases in the State. The bulletin releases everyday at 8:00 P.M.

According to the released bulletin on the 23rd of April, Telangana has 3,87,106 positive cases, of which 3,26,997 are recovered/discharged cases, 1961 deceased cases and 58,148 are active cases.

To curb the spread of the virus, the TRS Government imposed a night curfew in Telangana till the 30th of April. The State Government also asked all the Kumbh Mela returnees to isolate themselves for 14 days.

In addition, the State Government also urged people to avoid venturing out and follow all the COVID-19 rules strictly as a precautionary measure.
