On the 24th of April, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government is expected to announce summer vacation for schools in Telangana.
According to sources, all schools in Telangana would have the 26th of April to be the last working day. The State Government received a series of representations from teachers and private school managements, giving opinions to close the schools in Telangana by the 26th of April instead of the 26th of May, which was supposed to be the last working day as per the academic calendar.
In addition, the class X or the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exam which was supposed to be held in April, has now been cancelled. The State Government decided to cancel the SSC board examinations in the wake of the rising cases of the Novel Coronavirus. Considering the situation, the school authorities asked the State Government to announce summer vacations early this year.
It has also been reported that since the State Government had announced that students have been promoted to next higher classes, students in government schools were not showing interest in online classes.
An official announcement regarding the school holidays or summer vacations is yet to be made.
