Telangana Reports 933 New COVID-19 Cases With Improved Recovery Rate At 97.18%

The Telangana Government is said to be tackling the COVID-29 situation in a better and improved way with a fewer number of single day cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the State. 

In the past 24 hours, the State reported less than 1,000 cases of the Wuhan virus. This is the second consecutive day the State reported below 1,000 cases since the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic hit Telangana.

On the 28th of June, Telangana recorded 933 new cases, 9 deaths and 1,417 recovered/discharged cases of the Novel Coronavirus. The updated figures were confirmed by the Telangana Health Department, through a bulletin released to the media.

The State Health Department releases the bulletin everyday at 8:00 P.M.

According to the health bulletin released on the 28th of June, Telangana has 6,21,606 positive cases, of which 13,869 are active cases, 6,04,093 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,644 are deceased cases.

In Telangana, the regions of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the highest number of cases with 124 cases, followed by Nalgonda (78) and Suryapet (72.)

In addition, according to the bulletin, the Telangana Medical Department conducted 1.2 lakh sample tests for COVID-19, taking the total to 1.84 crores till the 29th of June.

With this, Telangana has a 97.18% recovery rate from COVID-19 with a 0.58 % fatality rate. On the 28th of June, the recovery rate stood at 97.10 %, which improved by 0.8 % in 24 hours.

Meanwhile, compared to the previous 99 containment zones, there are 88 active containment zones in Telangana. Of these, the highest number of containment zones are in Mahabubabad and Hyderabad followed by 23 in Bhadradri Kothagudem district and 19 in other regions of the State.
