Telangana reported decline in the number of Wuhan Virus cases, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases. A day after the imposed lockdown was lifted, the State reported below 1,100 cases of the Wuhan virus with 11 deaths.
In the past 24 hours, the State reported 1,006 new COVID-19 cases, 11 fatalities and 1,793 recoveries
The updated COVID-19 figures were confirmed through a health bulletin released on the night of the 20th of June, Sunday. According to the health bulletin, the Telangana medical department conducted as many as 1.75 crores sample tests for COVID-19 till date.
While Telangana is witnessing a decline in COVID-19 cases, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation still remains the region with the highest number of single day cases with 141 cases, followed by Khammam (88) and Rangareddy (79.) In addition, the State now has 217 active containment zones compared to the previous 312 zones. Of these 217 zones, 10 containment zones are in Hyderabad, 60 in Nalgonda, 31 in Mahabubabad, 22 in Jagtial and 24 in Bhadradri Kothagudem.
With this, till date, Telangana has 6,13,202 positive cases, of which 5,91,870 are recovered/discharged cases, 17,765 active cases and 3,567 death cases.
Meanwhile, the State administered 90 lakh doses of both first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. With this, the State is expecting to complete an administration of 1 crore COVID-19 doses in July. In addition, the case fatality rate (CFR) stands at 0.58% increasing from 0.50% at the beginning of May.
The recovery rate meanwhile has improved to 96.52%.
