“I love being in Menopause”, said International icon Angelina Jolie. Earlier, this year she underwent surgery involving the removal of her fallopian tubes and ovaries in order to lessen the chances of ovarian cancer.
In an interview, the actress said, “I actually love being in menopause and I haven’t had a terrible reaction to it, so I’m very fortunate.” She added that she feels happy that she has grown up and don’t want to be young again.
The 40-year-old said that her husband, Brad Pitt, made it very clear to her that what he loved and what was a woman to him was somebody who was smart, and capable, and cared about her family, that it’s not about her physical body.
“So I knew through the surgeries that this wasn’t going to be something that made me feel like less of a woman, because my husband wouldn’t let that happen,” she added.
In 2013, Angelina Jolie had a double mastectomy and then she removed her ovaries and fallopian tubes. About her decision, she said, “I feel feminine, and grounded in the choices I am making for myself and my family,” she wrote at the time. “I know my children will never have to say, ‘Mom died of ovarian cancer.'”
