Bob Dylan came into the music industry in 1959 playing his guitar and harmonica. He quickly climbed the ladder and became a popular figure in the music industry.

At the Newport Folk Festival of 1964, the legend of folk music, Pete Seeger introduced Bob Dylan to the stage to perform. Pete Seeger’s introduction for Bob Dylan explained him perfectly at that age, “He was born in Duluth but his family lived up in a little mining town. He said he ran away from home 17 times and got brought back 16. I don’t think anybody needs to talk for him if Bob Dylan is within hearing distance. Let him come forward.”

Then young Bob Dylan walked on to the stage and responded to the crowd’s cheers by saying, “I think you have the wrong man.” He then played one of the best renditions of his famous song Mr. Tambourin Man.

Bob Dylan went on to create beautiful music for more than 50 years. His music is not all that catches your attention but his poetic lyrics get you thinking.

In 2016, Bob Dylan became the first musician to receive a Nobel Prize for Literature. It was a head scratching news for many and even left Bob Dylan speechless until Sunday. Bob Dylan released the mandatory Nobel Prize winner lecture. The 27 minute long talk is as eloquent as Bob Dylan’s lyrics. The lecture proved how much the musician truly deserves to be a Nobel Prize winner for literature.

Listen to the speech in its entirety and be mesmerized by what just words can do.
