On Sunday night, Karan Johar revealed that he had become a single father of twins in the last month through surrogacy. Karan in his tweet posted and thanked the surrogate mother who has given life to his ‘lifelong dream’ and said that she will always remain in his prayers. Karan named his twins after his mother and father, Yash to the boy and Roohi, a rearrangement of Hiroo, Karan’s mother, for the girl.

Karan, in January at the launch of his book ”An Unsuitable Boy” expressed his desire to be a father. He also stated at the event that “Student Of The Year” stars, Alia Bhatt, Siddarth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan are like his children.
The filmmaker’s best friend of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, expressed his joy on the news. When queued about the news at Mijwan Summer 2017 fashion show, the star said, “It’s a personal moment. Let’s respect the privacy. Of course, we all are very happy.”
Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan showered love and presented their congratulations to the director- producer. Bollywood joined the new stars in wishing the new father hearty congratulations.
