Hindi cinema had a strong showing at the 72nd National Film Awards, with films such as Article 370, Chandu Champion, Stree 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 winning honours. The awards were presented by President Droupadi Murmu on September 22, 2026, in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat.
Article 370 won Best Feature Film. Its director Aditya Suhas Jambhale was part of the winning team, while Yami Gautam won Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film. Shashwat Sachdev also won Best Music Direction for its songs.
Swatantrya Veer Savarkar won Best Debut Film of a Director for Randeep Hooda. Chandu Champion earned Best Actor in a Leading Role for Kartik Aaryan, who shared the honour with Mammootty. Bhakshak won Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Sanjay Mishra.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 won Best Sound Design for Manas Choudhury. Maidaan won Best Lyrics for Manoj Muntashir, while Stree 2 won Best Choreography for Vijay Ganguly.
Srikanth, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, won the Best Hindi Film award.
