India is increasingly becomes the destination for music lovers with amazing acts underway in the recent past. What with Coldplay, David Guetta, Afrojack and many others hitting the stage all over the country, we are wallowing in some of the best music of our times. Adding to the music escape, we now hear that another music mammoth is coming to India this summer – it is none other than the 22 year old Canadian rock star, Justin Bieber!
This concert is part of Bieber’s Purpose tour and will be held at D.Y. Patil Stadium, Mumbai on 10th May 2017. We can look forward to a number of hits from the singing sensation including Where Are You Now, Boyfriend, Love Yourself, Company, As Long As You Love Me, What Do You Mean?, Baby, Purpose, Encore: Sorry amongst others. The person behind the event, Arjun Jain, Director of White Fox India, confirmed the news saying, “Justin Bieber is the biggest artist of our time and attracts a universal fan base across all ages. Justin Bieber will be bringing an extraordinarily (sic) show propelled by state of the art production and of a magnitude that the country has not witnessed in recent times.”

Bieber also posted about the tour stating, “Namaste India. See you on May 10th at DY Patil Stadium.” Mumbai will be one of the three Asian cities to host the Canadian singer’s concerts. The other two are Tel Aviv (Israel) and Dubai (United Arab Emirates). “Apart from Mumbai, he’ll visit New Delhi and Jaipur for some sightseeing. The organisers are putting together a tentative itinerary that’ll include a visit to a film set, some local shopping, and seeing places of historical interest, plus meet-and-greet with A-list musicians and actors,” one of the sources in the event management team told the reporters.
Tickets to the Justin Bieber concert go on sale from February 22, and are priced from Rs. 4,000. But if you are thinking that it is a hefty amount to pay for a concert then don’t you worry because you will be definitely getting your money’s worth! We can quite expect to see some of the Bollywood biggies attending the event and Justin Bieber’s performance itself will be at least 45 minutes long. “Nothing has been confirmed yet, but A.R. Rahman, Sonu Nigam and Arijit Singh along with a host of stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, are most likely to be roped in to perform and host the concert. The opening acts will also feature a few international artistes, since it will be a day-long affair.” Talk about a star-studded event! We cannot wait to welcome the Bieber mania!
