“Kochadaiiyaan” Dues: SC Issues Notice To Rajinikanth’s Wife Latha

Chennai: On Friday, the Supreme Court issued a notice to actor Rajiniknath’s wife Latha over the selling rights of movie “Kochadaiiyan” on a plea by Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd, Chennai. The apex court also sought response of her in connection with the case of cheating the post-production unit of the animated film.

According to reports, it was alleged by the complainant that his firm worked on post-production work worth Rs 14.9 crore for the movie and Latha Rajinikanth had signed a contract and also guaranteed payment of the amount. Post release, the producer paid Rs 8.7 crore but the remaining Rs 6.2 crore was allegedly not paid.

The police of Bengaluru had registered an FIR against the star’s wife on charges of cheating and she was also accused of producing forged documents before the court.

Under the IPC sections 196 (using evidence known to be false), 199 (false statement made in declaration which is by law receivable as evidence), 420 (cheating and 463 (forgery), the FIR was registered at the Halasuru Gate police station.
