Tuesday morning was a sad day for the South India film industry as legendary filmmaker I.V. Sasi passed away. The Tamil and Malayalam filmmaker was 69 years old. The industry was in shock and condolences poured in from almost every celebrity from the Tamil and Malayalam movie industry.
The filmmaker had a long and fruitful career with 150 films to his name. Malayalam actor Jagadish reflected on Sasi and said, “He was someone who explored a variety of themes in his films. The films he did will always remain in our memories.”
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also gave his condolences and said, “He was a director who rewrote all the traditions of Malayalam cinema and also gave a specialty to all his characters. This time, the government had honored him in a recent award function. He was pride of Kerala at the national level.”
