After Earthquake in Afghanistan-Tajikistan Border, Tremors in North India

New Delhi: Tremors felt in North India on Saturday after a massive earthquake with magnitude 6.2 jolted the border region of Afghanistan-Tajikistan.

Indian cities, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Srinagar and Delhi witnessed the tremors and the officials assured that there are no reports of damages and injuries.

According to the US Geological Survey, the major earthquake had its epicentre some 280 kilometres northeast of Afghanistan’s capital Kabul and hit at a depth of 203.5 kilometres. With the regions of Lahore, Peshwar, Kabul in Afghanistan and Islamabad in Pakistan felt the tremors. As many as 30 people were injured and there are no immediate reports of casualties.
