Bandipora: Four Terrorists Killed In Encounter

Four terrorists were killed in an encounter in Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir by Indian security forces on Monday. The operation is still underway and more terrorists are suspected to be hiding in Bandipora.

On Sunday, the Ministry of Home Affairs urged the security forces to take appropriate action against the terrorists. This comes after the Ministry announced ceasefire for the month Ramzan. However, terrorists continued to attack security forces.

The Ministry instructed the Indian forces to obstruct the terrorists from launching attacks. Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a huge spurt of terrorist attacks in the past few days. On Friday, two police personnel and one civilian were injured in an attack in Srinagar.

An Indian Army jawan was abducted and killed by terrorists in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. The jawan was kidnapped on Thursday morning and his body was found by a team of police in Gussu village. The jawan identified as Aurangzeb was shot in his head and neck.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reacted to the murder and said, “Another piece of terrible news to add to an already horrible day. May Aurangzeb rest in peace. Allah Jannat naseeb karay.”

Aurangzeb was one of the jawans involved in the encounter of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Sameer Tiger. The Soldier was on his way back home when a group of armed terrorists kidnapped him at gunpoint.  After Aurangzeb’s body was found, reports revealed the editor of Rising Kashmir was murdered by three unknown men.

The police reported this was a planned attack as the killers waited for Bukhari outside his office. Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief S. P. Vaid explained the men involved in the murder are yet to be identified. A CCTV camera caught the three attackers fleeing the site on a motorcycle. The rider wore a helmet while the other two covered their faces with masks.
