Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has ordered an immediate inquiry into allegations of secret cameras being installed in the girls’ hostel of an engineering college in Gudlavalleru, Krishna district. The Chief Minister directed District Collector DK Balaji, SP Gangadhar Rao, and District Minister Kollu Ravindra to visit the college and investigate the concerns raised by the students. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) posted the Chief Minister’s directives on its official ‘X’ account.

Following the CM’s orders, District Collector Balaji and SP Gangadhar Rao promptly arrived at the college hostel to gather information and speak with the students. During their visit, students raised slogans demanding justice, reflecting their anger and distress over the incident.

The scandal came to light after students staged a protest at the college late Thursday night, alleging that secret cameras had been discovered in the girls’ hostel washrooms. The protest, which continued until 3:30 am, escalated when students accused a fellow BTech student, Vijay, of installing the cameras and selling videos. The police intervened, arresting Vijay and seizing his laptop and cellphone. Another student is also being accused of assisting Vijay in setting up the cameras.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, and authorities have assured a thorough investigation to bring those responsible to justice.
