Mahabubnagar: As part of the Victory Celebrations of Public Administration, the Telangana government is making grand preparations to conclude the Rythu Padang in Mahabubnagar on Saturday. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will attend the event as the chief guest and is expected to make significant announcements regarding rice farmers and the agriculture sector.
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has already confirmed the release of Rs. 3,000 crore to three lakh farmers under the fourth installment of the loan waiver scheme. The CM’s policy decisions on the matter are anticipated to be revealed during the event.
The farmers’ festival began on Thursday and has seen a strong turnout. Various stalls showcasing agriculture, horticulture, veterinary medicine, fisheries, and dairy sectors have been set up. Farmers have been educated on agricultural methods, machinery, fertilizers, pesticides, and irrigation techniques by experts. A documentary on cultivation practices has also been screened.
More than one lakh farmers from across the state are expected to gather for the final meeting, where the CM will interact with farmers, visit stalls, and address the gathering. In a previous move, the government has waived loans of Rs. 17,869.22 crore for 22,22,067 farmers under the crop loan waiver scheme.
