The city is now under high alert by the government and with warnings issued across state, especially, in the Ranga Reddy, Adilabad, and Nizamabad districts. The Capital city is mainly facing issues with its centrally located Hussain Sagar lake which is threatening to overflow with the massive downpour. It was only on Wednesday that the NTR marg near the lake faced a big issue with a part of the rod falling apart due to the downpour, leaving behind a gaping hole in its wake.

The cause of the rains has been attributed to the low pressure areas that was created in coastal Andhra and which is now steadily moving westwards. Hence, the rains are predicted to continue for the next 48 hours, especially in coastal Andhra and Telangana areas. Citizens have been asked to stay indoors and the National Disaster Response Force and the Indian Army have been alerted.
