Neelabdri Das Gupta, the poll observer of the Urban Assembly Segment Expenditure, informed all the candidates contesting the Lok Sabha elections regarding the submission of expenditure papers.

The information was circulated among the members of all the parties, as per the orders of the Election Commission of India (ECI,) ahead of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in India.

Mr. Das Gupta said, it is mandatory for the Party members and the independent candidates to submit the expenses incurred during the elections, otherwise strict action will be taken against them.

According to sources, if any candidate or Party fails to register the expenses, it would be considered a violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) imposed by the ECI.

The MCC is a set of guidelines enforced by the ECI, which is applicable to all the political parties, from the announcement of the dates of the elections till the results of the elections are declared.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to begin from the 11th of April and will continue till the 19th of May 2019.

The major parties contesting the Lok Sabha elections are the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

The results of the Lok Sabha elections will be announced on the 23rd of May 2019.
