Most parts of India is plagued by riots from fringe groups protesting the release of the film Padmaavat. Even after multiple cuts and changing the movie’s name the protesters are not satisfied and continue to create havoc. But the Pakistan censor board cleared the controversial film without any cuts.

Islamabad Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) Chairman Mobashir Hasan took to social media to confirm the film was passed by the board. On Twitter Hasan said, “Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) has declared a feature film containing Indian cast and crew, ‘Padmaavat’, without any excision suitable for public exhibition in the cinemas with a ‘U’ certification.”

As the film was cleared by the Pakistan CBFC it removes the fear that the portrayal of Alauddin Khilji would receive a negative reaction. Hasan is the Chairman we need for the CBFC in India. He clearly stated, “CBFC isn’t biased in arts, creativity and healthy entertainment.”

The officials of the CBFC have invited the Chairman from the Department of History at the Quaid-e-Azam University to watch the film. Professor Waqar Ali Shah was invited by the CBFC to check the historical references made in the movie.
