In yet another violation of the truce at the LoC, Pakistani troops started an unprovoked firing killing two jawans and mutilating their bodies. In response to this tragic event, the Northern Command of Indian Army released a statement that said, “In an unsoldierly act by the Pakistan Army the bodies of two of our soldiers in the patrol were mutilated. Such despicable act of Pakistan Army will be appropriately responded.”

A Border Security Force (BSF) Head Constable, Prem Sagar and an Army Junior Commissioned Officer, Paramjit Singh were killed and one BSF jawan injured in a ceasefire violation. At 8:30 A.M., this morning, Pakistan used automatic weapons and rocket launchers on Indian posts.

In an interview with Press Trust of India, a senior BSF officer said, “At about 0830 hours, there was heavy firing from Pakistani (army) posts at BSF posts at LoC in Krishnagati sector of Poonch district with rockets and automatic weapons.”
